Purpose

Family Legacy is built to help families preserve memories with care. Family history can be joyful, complicated, sensitive, and deeply personal.

These guidelines help keep family workspaces respectful, family-friendly, and useful for future generations.

Respect

Treat relatives and invited members with dignity, even when family memories or interpretations differ.

Do not use Family Legacy to harass, threaten, shame, dox, or target another person.

Family-friendly content

Keep shared content appropriate for the family members who may access the workspace.

Use extra care before uploading sensitive images, private documents, contact details, or information about children.

Authentic memories

Family Legacy works best when memories are written honestly and with context. If a story is uncertain, say so.

Avoid presenting speculation, rumors, or AI-generated text as verified fact.

No harassment

Harassment, intimidation, hate content, repeated unwanted contact, and abusive comments are not allowed.

Workspace owners and admins should remove harmful content and revoke access when necessary.

No illegal content

Do not upload illegal content or use Family Legacy to coordinate illegal activity.

This includes illegal files, exploitative material, stolen documents, malware, or content that violates another person's rights.

No impersonation

Do not impersonate relatives, admins, Family Legacy staff, or any other person.

If you manage a profile for a relative, make it clear that you are preserving information about that person, not pretending to be them.

When families disagree

Families may disagree about dates, names, relationships, photos, or sensitive events. Use notes, context, and respectful language instead of turning the workspace into a dispute.

For serious conflicts, workspace owners should decide who can edit, view, or manage specific family information.
